Gordo's Tanner Bailey led the Greenwave with three RBIs in the opening 16-3 win over Randolph County and two RBIs in the series clinching 3-0 win over the Tigers.

After dropping two of three games to American Christian Academy to finish second in the area, Gordo faced the task of having to travel to Wedowee to face Randolph County last weekend. The Greenwaves would sweep the first two games of the best-of-three series with the Tigers by winning 16-3 and 3-0 and giving Gordo a home series in the second round.
“In both games I thought we pitched really well and played very good defense,” Gordo head coach Jonathan Pate said. “We obviously scored some in that first game and the ball game kind of got out of hand. In the second game we scored three runs, and it was like we kind of hit cruise control, so to speak.”
