Martha Hancock Lang, age 98, of Carrollton, AL passed away June 23, 2022 at her home. Funeral services were 2:00 pm Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Carrollton First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bobby Boothe officiating. Burial followed in Graham Memorial Cemetery in Reform with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Hancock and Eloise Sanders Hancock; her husband, William H. Lang, Sr.; sons, William H. Lang, Jr., James Thomas Lang and Malcolm A. Lang; grandson, Malcolm A. Lang, Jr.; brothers, Dr. Charles Hancock, Sonny Hancock and Jimmy Hancock and nephew, Johnny Hancock.
Survivors include her son, Robert Eugene “Gene” Lang; grandchildren, Bunky Lang, Brad Lang (Brooke), Nicole Lang, Alisa Lang, Adam Lang (Faith) and Paige Lang Zieger; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Phillips Sartin (Chris), Nancy Lang Cross (Garret), Brayden Todd, Gracie Lang, Cadence Lang, Jack Lang, Jacob Foster, Gabby Lang, Brinkley Lang and Jaxson Lang and great-great grandchildren, Eloise “Ellie” Cross and Rowdy Sartin.
Mrs. Lang was a graduate of Pickens County High School and a lifelong member of DAR. During her adult life she attended Reform First United Methodist Church and Carrollton First United Methodist Church. Martha retired from the Pickens County Soil and Water Conservation Board and her passion in her later years was her weekly and monthly Bridge Club. During her retirement, she took pride in taking care of the Lang farm and being the family historian. She dedicated her life to God, Family and Friends and took joy in being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and recently a great- great grandmother. Martha Lang was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Pallbearers were Ray Hancock. Mike Hancock, Ricky Williams, Buddy McDaniel, Ken Simpson, Garfield Johnson, Ryan Harcrow and Riley Harcrow.
