The open air, sawdust floor arbor is the focal point of Tabernacle Campground. Services occur three times a day throughout the week except Saturdays.

Ethelsville, Ala., is also home to another campmeeting site. Tabernacle United Methodist Church Campground has been meeting for 190 years. Tentholders travel far and wide to attend the sacred week which starts the fourth Sunday in July. The open brush arbor provides a unique experience for all who attend. The days of arriving in wagons or on horseback have been replaced with cars and trucks. The practice of staying in tents on the grounds has transitioned to cabins, travel trailers, and motor homes. However, the longstanding tradition of a week of preaching, singing, children activities, and fun still remain.
There are three worship services a day: 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 7:30p.m. This year, Eric Pridmore and Mike Childs will be leading the revival services starting July 22, and Steve and Becky Carver are the music leaders for the week. The closing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 29.
The community support of the Campground has been strong, so there is fellowship provided at the potluck Community Lunch held on Thursday, July 26. Also, on that Thursday evening, the tentholders provide homemade ice cream following the 7:30 p.m. service.
Mary Jean Spiller Noland has attended every year since she was six weeks old. "It is a unique experience, somewhat unplugged, and peaceful," said Noland. "A great time for spiritual renewal, people may come to stay the week or visit for the day."
