ADEM Awards $12 Million for Pickens County Water Projects

CARROLLTON – Officials with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) were joined by state Sen. Gerald Allen and state Rep. Rodney Sullivan in Carrollton to award $12 million in grants to repair and upgrade water and sewer systems in Pickens County.

    CARROLLTON- The Pickens County Board of Commissioners meeting was held on October 25, 2022. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Fitch. Commissioners Drew Elmore and Bobby Ingram were not in attendance.
    Commissioner Mark Gray made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Bobby Bain, to approve the consent agenda.

Aliceville Public Library was one of a few selected rural public libraries across the United States to receive the ALA COVID Library Relief Fund.  The ALA COVID Library Relief grant assists public, school, academic, and tribal libraries across the United States and US Territories that have experienced substantial hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic, which impacted their ability to serve their community, especially in traditionally underserved populations.
