Pickensville Mayor Donald Sherrod cuts the ribbon on Pickensville's first-ever chain store.
On April 7, Pickensville’s Mayor Donald Sherrod had the pleasure of cutting the ribbon for the Grand Opening of Dollar General, the first chain store that has come to Pickensville in the 200 plus years Pickensville has been established.
Mayor Sherrod (who is also the rst African American male Mayor of Pickensville) says he is working hard to develop jobs for Pickensville and to address community concerns.
Mayor Sherrod stated, “I want to draw more tourism to Pickensville so that many can see what Pickensville has to offer.” By doing this he hopes that he can get more business to come to Town. Mayor Sherrod said his next goal for Pickensville is to have a chain restaurant come to Pickensville.
