CARROLLTON - Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs Kenneth Boswell visited the Pickens County College and Career Center last Thursday to speak about the importance of completing the 2020 Census.
Carrollton Mayor Mickey Walker put the event together and welcomed Boswell to an audience of approximately 50 people in attendance. The mayor first made a statement regarding the Census in Carrollton.
“I’ve been going door to door and talking to people,” Walker said. “The people saying they’re filling it out, please do fill it out. Don’t just tell us. Get the thing filled out. We should be at 70, 80, or 90-percent, based on the number of people who tell me that. We’re only at 54.3-percent. Something is going on.”
