ALICEVILLE-The Aliceville City Council meeting was called to order on June 29, 2022 by Mayor Terrence Windham. Council member Gilliam was not present at the meeting.

After the invocation was given, the council approved of last meeting’s minutes. There was no unfinished business causing the agenda to move into new business.

The first item for discussion included the purchase of a new weather siren for the city of Aliceville.“We recently had our weather siren fixed by Precision,” Windham discussed. “They utilize parts that they could find because we have an old system and it predated 2011 or 2001 which is a pre 9/11 system. The pre 9/11 systems are now out of date and they’re unable to be updated because they don’t have the parts anymore. Precision did the best with what they had and they fixed it, but now the system is down again and it’s irreparable.”
