CARROLLTON- The Pickens County Board of Commissioners meeting was held on March 28, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Fitch. Commissioner Jill Noland was not in attendance.
The meeting began with a motion from Commissioner Drew Elmore to approve the consent agenda. Commissioner Jody McGee seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Next was new business, where Commissioner McGee motioned to adopt the resolution providing for an adjusted salary of 72% of the Circuit Judge's salary when the Probate Judge is a licensed attorney in Alabama and thereby has equity jurisdiction. Commissioner Elmore seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner McGee motioned to award bids to ST Bunn to resurface County Road 3 ($861,165. 31) and Washington Road ($193,296. 90). Commissioner Nancy Ray seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Next was to declare unit #14953 as surplus and authorize the County Engineer to post on GovDeals. Commissioner Ray motioned, seconded by Commissioner Elmore, and it was approved.
