The Dec. 2 Gordo Town Council meeting was a brief one, with only a couple of motions taking place, including approving the schedule for council meetings in 2025.
The Gordo Council normally meets the first Monday of each month at 5:30 but because of several Monday holidays (such as Labor Day) and conflicts with other events (like New Year’s Day), the town has had to change its meeting date several times in 2024.
Mayor Craig Patterson proposed a new calendar of meetings for 2025 at the November meeting, and the Council acted on his recommendation at this December meeting.
Councilman Jim Elmore made a motion to approve the 2025 calendar. Councilman Jerome Duff seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved (Councilwoman Floy Goode was absent).
The calendar of meetings for 2025 is, as follows: Jan. 13, Feb. 24,
March 17, April 14, May 12, June 16, July 14, August 11, Sept. 15 and Oct. 20.
