The Pickens County Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, March 20th began with Superintendent Jamie Chapman informing the board that the Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 15th would be moved to the Pickens County College and Career Center, rather than at the central office. Chapman stated that the meeting would remain at its scheduled time of 6 p.m. and all that would change is the location.
"We are going to meet at the career center to celebrate our wholesome accomplishments and celebrate those kids down there," Chapman said. "All that is, is an April location change, not a time change."
The April 15 meeting at the career center will honor the 24 HOSA students who advanced to the statewide competition recently.
Chapman also mentioned that Pickens County was leading West Alabama in dual enrollment among its students.
"We lead dual enrollment among West Alabama high school students, right here in Pickens County," Chapman said. "It's not even the home of Bevill, the home is in Fayette and Jasper. We're outdoing them."
