MONTGOMERY - The Lady Pirates throttled Jackson Academy 42-12 last Wednesday to advance to the Final Four for the fourth time in five years.
“I felt we played our assignments and followed the game plan pretty good,” Pickens Academy Coach Lee Hazelwood said. “We started off a little slow offensively, but we settled down and I thought we did a good job, although there were a few things I thought we could have done better.”
Pickens Academy held a 16-5 lead after one quarter and built a 26-8 halftime lead.
The Lady Pirates held the Lady Eagles to just one point in the third quarter, taking a 37-9 lead into the final stanza.
PA only scored five points in the final quarter, but it was enough for a 42-12 win.
