James Harold “Bubba” Kelley, age 70, of Reform, AL passed away August 4, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services were 2:00 pm Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Damon Rose and Bro. Billy Carl Sul- livan officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hal Kelley and Sonny Kelley; sister, Doris Keasler and brothers- in-law, Steve Sullivan and Charles Watts.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrie E. Kelley; daughter, Brandy Junkin (Scott); son, Trey Kelley (Rebecca); sisters, Peggy Sullivan and Ruth Watts and five grandchildren, Noah and Avie Kate Kelley, Grace, Cade and Ty Junkin.
Mr. Kelley was born May 26, 1952 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Mervin R. Kelley and Avie Lou Cooper Kelley. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director. He was a retired employee of GenCorp in Columbus, MS, a cattle farmer and veteran of the Army National Guard. Bubba was a Volunteer Fireman for the Palmetto Volunteer Fire Department and he was very active in his community and with the Palmetto Community Center where he was chosen as co-president.
Pallbearers were Kenny Junkin, James Tilley, Kenny Kelley, Randy Peeks, Stevie Junkin, Toby McAteer and Stephen Sullivan.
Honorary Pallbearers were members of Calvary Baptist Church, staff of Amedisys Hospice and members of Palmetto Volunteer Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Palmetto Volunteer Fire Department, c/o Roy Thomas, 1907 County Road 51, Kennedy, AL 35574 or Manderson Cancer Center, 809 University Blvd. E., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
