Doris Nell was born March 22, 1932 in Gordo, AL to the late Harvey and Evie Elmore. She spent her life as a homemaker and a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was blessed with a beautiful, soprano voice and a love for singing. As a young girl, she even had dreams of becoming an opera singer. She served faithfully by singing in the church choir on Sundays, and always looked forward to performing in the annual Christmas cantata.
Doris Nell also had tremendous love for babies and young children. Anytime she had the opportunity to love on and nurture a baby, she was more than willing to have her turn. She also loved animals, especially her puppy dog, Snowbaby. Any animal that visited her front porch was always welcome to stay.
Above all, Doris Nell loved Jesus! This was evident by the way she raised her family and faithfully served and loved others. She was a friend to all and will be greatly missed. However, she is now singing in Heaven!
