Gordo Grenadier Band Raising Money for Uniforms

Current 2018-2019 Gordo Grenadier Band.

The Gordo Grenadier Band, directed by Michelle Gann, has been raising money for new uniforms since March of 2017. The current uniforms are about 18 years old. Cost of new uniforms for the band of over 100 members will total around $50,000.

Students, parents, and faculty have been working hard to raise money. In January of this year the Band hosted a Deer Hunt, there have also been T-shirt sales, a Southern Heritage Meats sale, a strawberry fundraiser, donations from memorials in honor of former band member Anna Langdon, donations from Hargrove United Methodist Church, a large donation from an anonymous donor, and the band’s 1st Annual Grenadier Spirit Ride in April of 2018.

The band’s next fundraiser is a Yard Sale on June 1 and June 2 at the Gordo red light, and a Pepsi Wagon and Bake Sale at Gordo’s Mule Day festivities on the same dates.

After everyone’s hard work and generosity, the band only needs about $15,000 to achieve their goal.

If you would like to donate, please send checks or money orders to Gordo High School, c/o Uniform Fund, 630 4th St. NW, Gordo, AL 35466. You may also contact Band Booster President, Tiffany Langston at (205) 361-4702 or Cathy Plowman at (205) 399-2072. All donations are appreciated.
