The Bon Ami Civic and Service Club will sponsor the annual Mr. and Miss Bon Ami Beauty Pageant on Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m. at Aliceville Elementary School. Admission is $1 per person. Contestants ages 1 to 12 are invited to attend, and interested participants may contact 205-399-0097. Winner is determined by the greatest donation received.
Pickens County Farmers Federation is having a cooking contest for all ALFA members. The contest is open to people who are members of ALFA and at least 18 years old. The category is Savory Dairy Based Dips (non sweet). The local contest is to be held April 28 at Cheeky’s Restaurant in Gordo at 5:30. Your recipe should be printed on a note card. Bring your prepared dish at 5:15 to the restaurant.
The Singing Bryants of Millport, Ala. will be the featured group at the Southern Gospel Concert in Belk, Ala. on May 2.
The quartet features Waymon and Gail Fields, and their daughter, Marsha McDaniel. They have been singing together for many years and have developed a unique style of delightful harmonies and arrangements of many favorite Southern Gospel songs.
The 2nd Annual Grenadier Spirit Motorcycle Ride will take place at Gordo High School Stadium, 630 4th Street NW, Gordo, AL 35466 on May 4, 2019. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and Kickstands up at 10:30 a.m. Rain or shine! This is an all ages event and advance registration (before April 15) is $25 for all riders and registration the day of the event is $30 for all riders.
