Calling non-profit organizations based in and serving the Black Belt to join us for a Grant Seekers Workshop for our 2019 Arts Grant Cycle at Carrollton Multi-Service Center Auditorium on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. Topics of discussion: Black Belt Community Foundation Impact in Pickens County, Updates from the Black Belt Community Foundation, 2019 Arts and Arts Education Grant Applications. Organizations must send a representative to a Grants Seekers Workshop to be eligible for this round of arts grants.
Pancake lovers across the county will want to join us Feb. 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pickens County Medical Center cafeteria to enjoy a stack of pancakes to benefit the Pickens County Medical Center Foundation. Dine-in or take out. This is your opportunity to help support our community hospital. Tickets are $6 and are available at the Pickens County Medical Center and the Pickens County branches of West Alabama Bank and FNB of Central Alabama.
The Pickens County Community Action Committee Head Start Pre-K Recruitment and Registration is happening now through March 1. This must be completed to be in the lottery in March! All children who are not currently enrolled in PCCA Head Start Pre-K program and will be four years of age before or by Sept. 1, 2019 should register for First Class Pre-K online at: alprek.asapconnected.com (enter in the address box at the top of the screen). Please follow the prompts to complete each step. Once this is completed please come into the Center to start the Head Start Pre-K enrollment process.
The Pickens County Soil & Water Conservation District is now accepting applications for a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Alabama Conservation District Employees Association. Applications may be picked up at the District office located at 155 Reform Street Service Center Building, Room 304, Carrollton, Alabama.
