Funeral services for John Wyatt Stevenson, age 70, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 12 p.m. at the Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Martin officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 -7 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019.  Mr. Stevenson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.

Mr. Stevenson passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at his residence.

The going home celebration for Mrs. Ada Mae Thompson was Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Aliceville City Hall, 419 Memorial Parkway, in Aliceville.

Ms. Barbara Jones-Young, 70, of Ethelsville, died on February 1, 2019, in Birmingham, AL. George Larry Porter, 74, of Gordo passed away on February 6, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Services were held at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2pm with Elder Peter Johnson presiding and Bishop Ryan Summers. The location of burial was Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery and Porter received military honors. Visitation was held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Skelton Funeral Home of Reform from 6-8pm.

She was born July 3, 1925 to James and Mamie Byars.

William Craig Dunlap, 52, of Robertsdale, Ala., formerly of Aliceville, was taken to his Heavenly home on December 6, 2018 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Dunlap, Sr.; grandparents, James W. and Lucile Dunlap, and William G. and Aleine Eldridge.

Rosalynde Johnston Hull, 75, left us on November 16, 2018, with her daughter by her side, in Daphne, Alabama.

Rosalynde Shelia Johnston was born in Aliceville, Alabama on April 27, 1943. Her parents were Johnnie and F.B. Johnston. She was the youngest of four (Pep, Karen, and Ben). Family and friends in Aliceville and the surrounding area were important to her throughout her life.

Joyce Cornelia Elrod, 60, of Vernon, Ala., formerly of Reform, died November 26, 2018 at Generations of Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray West Elrod and Dovie Elizabeth McPherson Elrod.
