Commission Rescinds Motion for Pay Increasement to Motor Grader Operators

CARROLLTON- The Pickens County Board of Commissioners meeting occurred on August 8, 2023. Chairman Jody McGee called the meeting to order.

Commissioner Drew Elmore made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Jill Noland, to approve the consent agenda. This motion was approved.

The meeting then moved to new business, where Commissioner Noland motioned to nominate Mark Randall, Jim Jeter, and Linda Pate for consideration as members of the County Board of Equalization. Commissioner Elmore seconded the motion, and it was approved.

Next, Commissioner Jerry Fitch, seconded by Commissioner Nancy Ray, motioned to authorize the Chairman to sign the FY2024 long-term detention subsidy contract with the Department of Youth Services designating the Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center as the recipient of Pickens County’s subsidy for housing juveniles. This motion was approved.

Commissioner Elmore motioned to authorize the Chairman to sign the agreement with the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts for an alternative compliance audit of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds spent in FY2022, cost not to exceed $5,700. Commissioner Ray seconded the motion, and it was approved.

A motion was made by Commissioner Noland to authorize the Chairman to sign the pre-application forms and resolution applying for ADEM’s Clean Water State Revolving Funds for culvert replacements and allocation of up to $71,307.25. Commissioner Elmore seconded the motion, and it was approved.
