Floyce Whitley, age 80, of Gordo, AL passed away December 20, 2022 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services were 11:00 am Friday, December 23, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Nelson officiating.  Burial followed in Holly Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.   Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Tick” Whitley; her parents; sisters, Patricia Whitley, Diane Pruitt and Teresa Kelley and brother, Harold “Bo” Lee.

Andy Ray Wharton, Sr., age 71, of Tuscaloosa, AL passed away December 18, 2022 at his residence.  Memorial services were 11:00 am Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Meherg officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.                                              
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cary Wharton.                      

Janice Elmore Snipes, age 71, of Gordo, AL passed away December 18, 2022 at her home.   Funeral services were 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Flatwoods Baptist Church with Bro. Ryan James officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation followed the service in the church Fellowship Hall.

Russell Dewayne Brown, Sr., age 80, of Ethelsville, AL passed away December 19, 2022 at Arbor Woods Health & Rehab in Reform  Funeral services were 10:00 am Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Ethelsville Baptist Church with Bro. Redus Hall and Bro. Richard Trotter officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation followed the service at the church

Barbara Ann Bryant, age 78, of Aliceville, AL passed away December 14, 2022 at Arbor Woods Heath & Rehab Center in Reform.  Funeral services were 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Garden Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Ezelle officiating.  Burial followed in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.

John B “Johnny” Dean, Jr., age 70, of Reform, AL, passed away December 14, 2022, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Ronald Lynn “Ronnie” Junkin, age 72, of Gordo, AL passed away December 5, 2022 at Northport Medical Center. Mrs. Ella Teresa “Lank” Hall, 64, of Reform passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at her residence. Public Visitation was held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Homegoing Celebration was Friday, December 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in The James & Lola Lavender Memorial Chapel of Lavender’s Funeral Service. Interment was in McCrary (Unity Grove) Cemetery in Palmetto, Alabama.

Reverend Winston Burdette Sr., 66, of Mableton, GA passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Piedmont Healthcare Atlanta. Public Visitation was held Friday, December 9, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Homegoing Celebration was Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Carrollton. Interment was in Mt. Sinai Ceme- tery.

Margaret Alexander Finch, age 87, of Cullman, AL and formerly of Aliceville passed away December 5, 2022 at Woodland Village Rehab & Health Care Center in Cullman, AL. Private graveside services were held 2:00 pm Friday, December 9, 2022 at Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery in Aliceville, AL with Rev. Gene Lankford officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.

James Edsel Garner of Gordo, Alabama, died on November 18, in Birmingham, his adoring wife and two children by his bedside as he passed on to meet his Savior. He was 81 years old.

Lear Jean Acker, age 54, of Gordo, AL passed away November 28, 2022 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  Funeral services were 2:00 pm Thursday December 1, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marshall Sutton officiating.  Burial followed in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation was held from 6 - 8 pm Wednesday, November 30, 2033 at the funeral home.

Mr. Robert Miller, 82, of East Elmhurst, NY, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at his residence. The Graveside Celebration was held Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 12:00 noon in New Cemetery in Aliceville.

Mr. Onnie Lee Guyton, 96, passed away on November 20, 2022, in Northport, AL. Funeral service was held on November 26, 2022, at Providence M.B. Church in Liberty, AL. Burial followed at Providence Cemetery in Liberty, AL., with Northport Funeral & Cremation Service directing.

Josie Duncan Turnipseed, age 77, of  Ethelsville, AL passed away October 30, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.  Funeral services were 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Taylor officiating.  Burial followed in Mt. Mrs. Authorine Taggart, 95, of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at her residence. The Graveside Homegoing Celebration was held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at noon in Community Cemetery in Carrollton.

Julia Annette Munroe, 84, of Talladega passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022. A funeral ceremony was held in her honor at First Methodist Church of Talladega on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. with Terry Bentley officiating. The family received friends at Usrey Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P.M. Interment followed directly after the service at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Floyd Olin Lee, Sr., age 90, passed away November 9, 2022 at his residence in the Union Chapel community of Carrollton, AL.  Funeral services were 11:00 am Friday, November 18, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Boothe officiating . Burial followed in Union Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  The family received guests one hour prior and after the service.

Mr. Sammie D. “Dr. C” Corder, 66, of Columbus, MS, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at his residence. Taylor Hugh “Bacon” McDaniel, age 27, of Carrollton, AL passed away October 24, 2022 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.  Funeral services were 11:00 am Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Driver officiating.  Burial followed in Glen Echo Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation was 6 - 8 pm Wednesday, October 26,2022 at the funeral home.

Christopher Lamar Walker, Sr., age 57, of Gordo, AL passed away October 17, 2022 at his residence.  Graveside services were 2:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2022 in the family cemetery behind the residence with William Rail officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation followed the service at the graveside.

Ms. Jacqueline “Ricochet Rabbit” Hinton, 55, of Duluth, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Public Visitation was Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Homegoing Celebration was Monday, October 24, 2022, at noon at New Canaan Baptist Church in Aliceville. Interment was in New Cemetery, also in Aliceville.

Mr. Jessie Crowell DeGraffenreid, 72, of Aliceville passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at his residence. Public Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2022, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Home Going Celebration will be Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Bigbee Baptist Church in Aliceville. The Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr.Tyrone “Ty” Conner, 44, of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at his residence. The Homegoing Celebration was Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1:0 p.m. at Spirit & Truth Pentecostal Church in Aliceville. The interment was in Beebe Chapel Cemetery in Pickensville.

Theda Roszina Clark, age 68, of Gordo, AL passed away October 19, 2022 at her residence.  Funeral services were 11:00 am Monday, October 24, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Damon Rose officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation was  6 - 8 pm Sunday, October 23,2022 at the funeral home.

Albert Oran Wilson, Jr., age 90 died October 11, 2022, at his home. A graveside service was held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Gordo City Cemetery with Rev. Marvin McCormick officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family received friends following the service at the graveside.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ramona House Wilson; his sisters, Rose Marie Elmore (Ralph) and Margaret Allen(Cecil) and brother, Anderson Wilson.

James William Sutton, age 75, of Gordo, AL passed away October 13, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services were 2:00 pm Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Kennie Hill Church in Gordo with Bro. Mr. David Little, 54, of Reform, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022. Public Visitation was Friday, October 14, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Homegoing Celebration was held Saturday, October 15, 2022, at noon at First Baptist Church in Reform. The interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Reform.

Mr. Haywood Granger, Jr., 67, of Destin, Florida, formerly of Aliceville, on Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Destin. Public Visitation was Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Homegoing Celebration was Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Spirit & Truth Pentecostal Church in Aliceville. The interment was in New Cemetery in Aliceville.

Kathy Lois Martin Best, age 71, of Gordo, AL passed away October 9, 2022 at her residence. Funeral services were 3:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Hargrove United Methodist Church with Rev. Alisha Rhodes officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Lee Martin. Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Best and her son, Michael Best.

Janie Mildred “Millie” Powell, age 86, of Gordo, AL (Benevola community), passed away September 14, 2022, at Arbor Springs Health & Rehab in Opelika, AL. Graveside services were 4:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2022, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Rev. Dr. Tim Alexander officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation followed the graveside service at the Benevola Community Center.

Clyde Wesley Marine, a World War II veteran, died peacefully at home at age 96 on Friday, September 30, 2022. A son of the late Clyde and Maude Hendrix Marine, he was born in Windham Springs, Pickens County, AL on August 10, 1926. Visitation was 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Dogwood Chapel, Aliceville, AL.  Funeral services were 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Panola United Methodist Church, Panola, AL with Rev. Patricia A. “Patsy” Langner of Gordo, AL, passed away on October 3, 2022, surrounded by friends and family. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts and memories of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her style and flair were unrivaled – hats, jewelry, tattoos, and anything with fringe were the basis of her wardrobe.

Baby Boy Kevondale Craig of Carrollton passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. Graveside services was Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Baptist Home Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Gordo.

Ms. Keilla Diane Ball, 35, of Aliceville passed away Monday, September 19, 2022. Public Visitation was Fri- day, September 23, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Homegoing Celebration was Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Spirit & Truth Pentecostal Church in Aliceville. Interment was in Bigbee Baptist Church Cemetery.

Tiffany Ruth Thompson, age 47, of Ethelsville, AL, got the ultimate healing and went to her heavenly home on September 17, 2022, at DCH Regional Medical Center, surrounded by all who loved her.  Funeral services were 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Wes Jones officiating.  Burial followed in Arbor Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation was 6 - 8 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the funeral home.

Shelby B. Johnston, age 85, died at home in Aliceville, AL on September 17, 2022.  Graveside services were 3:00 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Oak Grove-Franconia Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Gene Lankford officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation followed the service at the graveside.
            She was preceded in death by her son, Rick Latham; her parents; brother, Burnice Bridges; sister, Frances Hollingsworth Stephens and sister-in-law, Gloria “Nan” Bridges.

Ms. Marie Smith, 89 of Reform passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, at DCH Regional Medical Center. The Wake for Ms. Smith will be Friday, September 23, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Lavender’s Funeral Service. The Home Going Celebration will be Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. noon in the James & Lola Lavender Memorial Chapel. The body of Ms. Smith will lie in state in the chapel one hour prior. Interment will be in Sandhill Cemetery.

Mary Milton “Millie” Rainey Kirksey, age 98, died peacefully at home on Thursday, September 8, 2022.  A private family burial service was held at Oak Grove Franconia Cemetery on Tuesday, September 13, 2022  with Rev. Thomas G. Kay, Jr. and Rev. Derrick Brite officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
       She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert Hugh Kirksey; her parents; her sister, Mrs. Lester M. “Tiny” Chancellor, and her son-in-law, Sam Richard Heard, Jr.

Brenda Lynn Grammer, age 77 of Carrollton, AL, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were 11:00 A.M.
