AN ORDINANCE REGULATING FLEA MARKETS AND TEMPORARY MARKET OPERATIONS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
SECTION 1. PURPOSE AND INTENT
The purpose of this Ordinance is to regulate the establishment and operation of flea markets, open-air markets, and similar temporary or recurring sales events within the City of Aliceville to ensure public safety, cleanliness, fair trade practices, and compatibility with surrounding land uses, while encouraging local entrepreneurship and community engagement.
SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the interested public that a public hearing will be held on the 26th day of February, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., at City Hall of Aliceville, located at 419 Memorial Parkway N.E., Aliceville, Alabama, by the City of Aliceville Zoning Board of Adjustment.
The purpose of the public hearing is to consider a request to operate a home occupation at 705 2nd Avenue S.E., Aliceville, Alabama 35442, located in an R-3 Residential Zone, by Jones Pressure Washing, LLC (Owner: Derrick Jones).
The City of Aliceville will consider a request to issue a Special Event Seven (7) Day License for on-premises alcohol consumption to Top Dawgz Kennel, LLC for an event “Denim & Boots Party” to be held at 535 Memorial Parkway N.W., Aliceville, Alabama 35442.
This request will be considered at the City Council meeting on February 10, 2026.
Issuance of the license shall be conditional upon approval of all processes and procedures required by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and the City of Aliceville Alcohol Ordinance.
