Locations in Pickens County available for COVID-19 vaccines by appointment or walk-in

BY BRIAN HAMILTON Managing Editor brian@pcherald.com COVID-19 vaccines are more readily available in Pickens County that ever, with a number of healthcare providers and pharmacies offering free vaccines. Appointments can be made to get the vaccine at Gentry Drugs, Dr. Robbins and Dr. Parker’s office in Aliceville; Dr. Boothe’s office in Reform, or the Pickens County Health Department in Carrollton. “We started at the end of February and as of today, we’ve given close to 1,200 total,” said Phil Gentry of Gentry Drugs.

Pickens County Health Department to administer COVID-19 vaccinations

Emergency Management Services Director Lakitha Bell recently announced that Pickens County citizens can register for the COVID-19 vaccine by calling the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) at (855)566-5333. The toll-free number is the statewide call center and is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Pickens County Health Department has begun scheduling appointments for upcoming clinics and individuals can call (205)367-8157 to schedule an appointment.
