PCBOE Child Nutrition Program Seeking Summer Feeding Sites

Pickens County Board of Education Child Nutrition Program is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) this year.

This program allows for meals to be provided to children ages 18 and under or less than age 21 and are physically and/or mentally disabled.

The meals that will be provided are breakfast and lunch. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

Meals will be provided at a first come, first serve basis June 4 - July 28, Mondays through Thursdays only. There will be no meal service on Fridays nor the week of July 2-6.

This program allows us to not only serve meals at our production site: Aliceville Elementary/Middle School Cafeteria, but to have meals provided to other sites that are more convenient for children to get to in other cities in the county.

The meals will be prepared at the production site (Aliceville Elementary/Middle School Cafeteria) and available for transport to approved sites for consumption by children.

If your community or organization is interested in becoming a SFSP approved site, please contact Carmen Burton, Child Nutrition Director at (205) 367-2090 or (205) 399-9350 by noon May 14.
