Judy Hollingsworth Boler

Judy Hollingsworth Boler, age 73, of Reform, AL passed away January 25, 2023 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.  Memorial services were 10:00 am Monday, January 30, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joyce Snyder and Rev. Mike Hall officiating.  Visitation followed the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon S. “Sonny” Boler; her grandson, Jordon Slade Boler; her parents and brothers, Gerald Orr Hollingsworth and John Robert Hollingsworth.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary-Jordon Boler (Tom Bacanskas); her son, Jonathan Slade Boler (Laura Crider Boler) and two grandchildren, Gracyn Hope Boler and Colt Slade Anthony Boler.
Judy was born October 22, 1949 to the late John Tracy Hollingsworth and Jannie Ruth Wilkins Hollingsworth.  She was a talented musician, who started playing the piano in church as a young girl.  She played the rest of her life at both Unity Grove (her home church) and at Arbor Springs (in later years).  She was also a singer, dobro player and player of whatever other instrument she took the notion to learn.
She began her career of service as a teacher at Fayette High School, where she taught for a couple of years before taking a position at the Department of Human Resources in Carrollton, AL. When she retired from her position of supervisor, she had served the TANF department for more than 25 years.  In addition to her work, Judy was an active member of the American Red Cross, a Girl Scout troop leader, Sunday School teacher, Church Youth leader, in addition to never missing a school or sports event in which Mary-Jordon or Jonathan participated.
In her retirement she assembled a fiber arts group called the Nitwits, who gathered weekly to learn crochet and knitting techniques.  As the family historian, she was also passionate about genealogy.  Above all, she thrived on spending time with her family and enriching the lives of her beloved grandchildren.
