ALICEVILLE- The Aliceville City Council meeting took place on January 25, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Terrence Windham.
The council approved the minutes of the last meeting. The meeting began with unfinished business, where Mayor Windham announced the progress of the park concession stand.
“ We’re going to go ahead and put the concession stand out for bid for the park. We’ll let it sit for approximately until the next council meeting, and that way, individuals can come in and submit their bids.” Announced Mayor Windham. The meeting then moved to new business, where Mayor Windham discussed the procurement of professional services.
“We need to procure an architect. We are in the process of trying to get a new fire station/police station municipal complex. We’re searching for some options, and one of those options is through a grant process in order to get that grant; That grant is already out. I received various emails earlier this week, so it is our obligation to put an RFQ (Request For Qualifications) out to the community or newspaper, and it has to circulate for approximately two weeks. Once that RFQ goes out, the architects will have to score, and we will pick the one that best fits the city of Aliceville.” Stated Mayor Windham.
