Meeting the Needs of Others at Christmas and Throughout the Year

When Jesus lived on this earth, He spent His life meeting the needs of others. He healed people, fed people, ministered to people, and left us with instructions to do the same. In Ephesians 2:10, the Bible says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Works will not save us. Only believing that Jesus is God’s son, and our personal savior will do that. However, we are called to bear good fruit and actively engage in good deeds throughout our lives. With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, we sometimes forget about this important command from the Word of God. We can go to Christmas parties, Christmas programs, carol singing, and be busy with the all the preparations, planning, and gift buying and forget what is truly important at Christmas. It all boils down to people and working to meet the needs of others, especially at this time of year. In fact, we are to be about meeting the needs of others not only at Christmas but all year long.
