Dorothy Deloris Hill, age 88, of Aliceville, AL, died March 30, 2025, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were 11:00 am Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Burial followed in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Hill; two sons, William Craig Dunlap and James Andrew “Jimmy” Dunlap, Jr., and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Pat Wilson (Willie) and Sharon Hamlin (Larry); stepdaughter, Beverly Barnes (Joe); stepson, Gary Hill (Anita); daughters-in-law, Joyce Dunlap Thomas and Teresa Dunlap; brother, W. O. Eldridge (Victoria); sisters, Martina Hodgin and Rita Classen; six grandchildren, Karen Ricks (Chris), Christopher Wilson (Abby), Mathew Dunlap (Shirley), Andy Hamlin (Chelsey), William Hamlin (Sara) and Anne Frances Hall (Thomas), seven great-grand- children and a number of nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born October 21, 1936, in Louisville, Mississippi, to the late William Gladstone Eldridge and Mary Alliene Moody Eldridge. She was a member of Union Chapel Church in Ethelsville and a retired employee of Westinghouse and Stevens Fashions.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 344, Aliceville, AL 35442.
