Lady Pirates Fall to Landy Broncos

Pickens Academy Lady Pirates welcomed Breakthrough Charter’s Lady Broncos on Monday night. The first period, the Lady Pirates fell behind with the score being 10-8 in favor of the Broncos. The score going into the half was 20-15 in favor of Breakthrough. Although the Lady Pirates were behind, they were battling. The third period was much like the first 2 with PA trailing Breakthrough in scoring by only 1 point. However, the final period looked promising for the Lady Pirates with Senior, Ella Craker dropping 7 points in that period alone, assisting the Lady Pirates with a dominate 13 points for the 4th period. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough to stop the Lady Broncos. The final score was 39- 34 in favor of Breakthrough’s Lady Broncos. Craker ended up scoring 12 total points for the Lady Pirates, along with Senior Jacy Hubbert scoring 7, Freshmen Emory Craker scoring 6, and Alanna Findley scoring 5; the Lady Pirates are proving to be a well- rounded team with strength not only coming from their starting lineup but also from their bench. Theres still tons of basketball left to see this season for the Pirates, come out and watch them folks!
