On behalf of the Pickens County Heart Committee, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2017 Heart Walk held at Gordo City Hall in the fall.
Heart disease is the #1 killer of all Americans each year! One in three people die of cardiovascular disease and stroke in West Alabama and congenital defects are the #1 birth defect.
The money that we raise goes toward research and development of new heart techniques that will help people in our state that have had heart and stroke issues. Also, hands-on CPR education for high school students is being provided as well as serving 17 million healthier meals to school children each day.
Your support is vital to this cause and we appreciate the people of Pickens County for their support, whether it be monetary or any effort made to help fight heart disease and stroke. Through these efforts, we raised over $5,100.
