Lamar County Helps with Ambulance Service

Pickens County is no longer using Northstar to run its ambulance service. As of December 1, 2024, Lamar County’s ambulance service is running the 24-hour ambulance in Pickens County from the county seat of Carrollton.

Gordo (7-2) will travel exactly eight miles to Reform to face Pickens County (6-3) in their annual rivalry game dubbed ‘The 8-Mile War’ on Friday night, Nov. 2. The Greenwave has not lost to the Tornadoes since 2013 and Gordo won last year’s matchup by a score of 44-12.
