GUIN - The 6th-ranked team in Class 1A, the Pickens County High Tornadoes, cruised into Guin on Friday night, and played like a top-ranked team as the F-5 blew away the Red Raiders.
“It's a lot different than we've been in the last two weeks. We came out with a mission”, said Tornadoes Head Coach Michael Williams, after watching his team dispatch Marion County.
The Tornadoes wasted no time setting the tone of the game, as they took the opening kick-off and in eight plays marched 66 yards in 3:17 for their first touchdown.
The big play in the drive was a 27-yard pass completion from quarterback Javion Belle to Santonio Jones, Jr. K.J. Byrd took the ball the final four yards for the touchdown. Belle scored the 2-point conversion and Pickens County was up 8-0.
