CARROLLTON - One of the more pressing issues discussed during the May 25, 2021 Pickens County Commission meeting was for the commission to approve and sign a resolution supporting the local bill providing for a supplemental salary of $25,000 when the Probate Judge is a licensed attorney in Alabama.
However, the bill was shot down by the commission.
“This bill simply got Pickens County in line with the rest of the State,” Pickens County Probate Judge David Pate said. “I had discussed this issue, off and on, with the Commission and tonight at the public meeting was the first time I was told that they didn’t support it. It’s frustrating.”
