Commission Declares Units as Surplus

CARROLLTON- The Pickens County Board of Commissioners meeting occurred on February 14, 2023. Chairman Jerry Fitch called the meeting to order.
A public comment from Revenue Commissioner, Michelle Kirk, stated that the 2023 tax rates are the same as stated in the property tax levy signed on February 9, 2016.
The meeting began with a motion from Commissioner Drew Elmore to approve the consent agenda. Commissioner Jill Noland seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Next on the agenda was new business, where Commissioner Noland motioned to authorize the Chairman to sign the Alabama Department of Youth Services agency grant agreement for $208,356. Commissioner Nancy Ray seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commission Ray made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Jody McGee, to appoint Commissioner Noland as the representative in the West Alabama Rural Planning Organization. This motion was approved.
Commissioner Noland motioned to reappoint Commissioner Elmore to the Airport Authority. Commissioner McGee seconded the motion, and it was approved.
A motion was made by Commissioner McGee, seconded by Commissioner Elmore, to approve and sign Resolution #20230214-1 supporting the local bill providing for a salary adjustment for the Revenue Commissioner. This motion was approved.
