CARROLLTON- The Pickens County Board of Commissioners meeting occurred on February 28, 2023. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jerry Fitch.
The meeting began with a motion from Commissioner Drew Elmore to approve the consent agenda. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Jody McGee, and it was approved.
Next on the agenda was new business, where Commissioner Jill Noland motioned to amend the “Pay Rate Schedule” approved on September 13, 2022, to Deputy- (Part-time) $18.00 (Full-time) $18.50, Jail Administrator- Negotiable, and Jailer- $13.50 (Shift Supervisor/Food Supervisor) $14.00. Commissioner McGee seconded the motion, and it was approved.
A motion was made by Commissioner Elmore to approve adjustments to Sheriff’s Department and Jail employees as presented by Sheriff Jordan Powell. Commissioner Noland seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Commissioner Noland motioned, seconded by Commissioner McGee, to approve the purchase of an Empura stove for the Jail Kitchen for $4,495. This motion was approved.
