James Franklin “Jim Frank” Seymer, also known as “Bud”, age 87 of Carrollton, AL passed away October 15, 2023 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were 11:00 am Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Carrollton Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Burkhalter officiating. Burial followed in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in Carrollton with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Seymer; his parents; brother, Joseph “Joe” Seymer, Jr. and sister, Gloria “Nan” Bridges.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Howard Seymer of Carrollton; son, Brad Seymer (Amanda) of Columbus, MS; brother, Tom Seymer (Emily) of Aberdeen, MS; three sisters, Beatrice Wright of Birmingham, Gay Plowman (Jimmy) of Navarre, FL and Harriet Seymer of Tupelo, MS; four grandchildren, Joseph Brent Dunnivant (Stephanie), John Bradley Seymer, Abby Jenkins (Austin) and Philip O’Bryant and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Dunnivant and Cheyanne Dunnivant.
Jim Frank was born October 8, 1936 in Pickensville, Alabama to the late Joseph Ura Seymer, Sr. and Nina B. Cosper Seymer. He was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church, retired from J & B Contractors and was a veteran of the United States Army.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Carrollton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 457, Carrollton, AL 35447.
