James Stanley “Stan” Criswell

James Stanley “Stan” Criswell, age 72, of Reform, AL met his Heavenly Father on  October 23, 2023 at his residence.  Funeral services were 2:00 pm Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Shaw officiating.  Burial was held in Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in McShan, AL with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Criswell and John and Mary Rose Duncan; sisters, Mary Ellen Jackson and Sandra June Estes; his in-laws, Oliver and Eloise Elmore and special nephew, Brad Criswell.
Stan leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Roma Elmore Criswell; daughter, Paige Eatmon (Tyrone) of Reform; son, Jason Criswell (Asia) of Reform; brothers, Mike Criswell (Dedra) and Frank Criswell (Meta) all of Reform; sister, Sharon Owen (Joe) of New Hope, MS;  seven grandchildren, Halli Koon, Jace Koon, Brett Criswell, Teagan Criswell, Lydia Shirley, Kellen Shirley and his sweet baby Willow and a host of nieces and nephews.
Stan was born December 7, 1950 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Roy Criswell and Mary Rose Elmore.  After high school Stan joined the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam.  When he returned home, he married the love of his life Roma Elmore.  He  retired from  Alabama Power Company after 35+ years of service.
Stan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was the biggest Alabama fan you’ve ever met.  He cheered his team to one more victory against Tennessee on Saturday.  “Roll Tide !”
Pallbearers were Tyrone Eatmon, Jeff Criswell, Glenn Lee, Larry Leach, Jeff Booth, Rufus Wilkins and Jacob Price.
The family would like to thank PCHS Class of 1969, Amedisys Hospice, Dr. Honea and staff, the Cancer Center, the V. A. and special friends Jeff Booth, Rufus Wilkins and Karl Vail.
