Green Wave Roll Against Vincmont 42-14

Gordo travel to Vinemont Friday night for the first ever meeting between the two schools and came home with a 42-14 win.

The Green Wave took to the air against the Ea- gles as Jase Neel had 5 touchdown passes on the night and CJ Lark was on the receiving end of 4 of those. Vinemont had no answer for the Green Wave passing attack.

Statically on the night Vinemont had 16 first downs to Gordo's 11. Rushing yards Vinemont led with 52 carries for 252, Gordo had 21 car- ries for 120. Passing yards Vinemont was held to 38 yards while Gordo had 252. Total yards Vinemont had 280 to Gordo's 372. Penalties Vinemont had 3 for 25 and Gordo 6 for 60.

1st Quarter : Gordo took the ball first and with 8:38 left Jase Neel hits Rainer Russell for a 33 yard td pass, extra point by Jordy Gomez was good giving Gordo a

7-0 lead. With 1:17 left Jase Neel hits CJ Lark for a 9 yard td pass, extra point by Jordy Gomez was good making the score Gordo 14-0 at the end of the 1st.

2nd quarter : At the 9:13 mark Jase Neel would hit CJ Lark for a 23 yard td pass, extra point by Jordy Gomez was good making the score Gordo 21-0 at Halftime.

3rd quarter : Vinemont would get on the board with 8:59 left on a 32 yard touchdown pass from Jaydon Sandlin to Joshua Rhodes, two point conversion failed making the score 21-6. Gordo would come right back with 8:04 left on a Jase Neel 59 yard pass to CJ Lark, extra point by Jordy Gomez was good giving Gordo a 28-6 lead. With 5:20 left Jase Neel would hit CJ Lark again with a 46 yard touchdown pass, extra point by Jordy Gomez was good giving Gordo a 35-6 lead. 4th quarter : Gordo would get its final touch- down with 1:23 left in the game on a 43 yard run by CJ Lark, extra point by Jordy Gomez was good making the final score Gordo 42 Vinemont 14.

Leading the Green Wave on the night in Rushing was CJ Lark with 6 carries for 51 yards and 1 touchdown. Leading Receiver was CJ Lark with 8 catches for 168 yards and 4 tds. Passing Leader was Jase Neel on 13-16 for 252 yards and 5 tds.

Leading Tacklers was Haden Hathcock with 13, Noah McDaniel with 11 and 1 fumble caused and Landon Scott with 11.

Gordo (7-1) (4-1) will be back at Home Friday night against Phil Camp- bell (2-5) (2-3) in an- other Region 5 matchup. Gordo Leads the series 1-0.
