Pickens Academy and Pickens County High School’s Lady Basketball teams met twice this week in two tough basketball games. The first matchup was on Monday night in Carrollton.

The Lady Pirates led the game going into the half with a score of 21-19. The Lady Tornadoes came out on fire after halftime and were strong in the second half, leaving the final game with a score of 46-39 in favor of PCHS and their Lady Tornadoes. Anesia Washington and Tahira Brown were PCHS’s high scorers for the night, bringing in over 10 points each on Monday night. PA’s Alanna Findley scored 15 points, and Ella Craker scored 9 to assist in a good Pirate show for the night. The final score Thursday night, in PCHS territory, was much the same, with the Lady Pirates fighting the Lady Tornadoes all night. But again, the Lady Tornadoes came out on top with a final game score of 28-25. Junior Alanna Findley and Senior Ella Craker were again a powerful force for the Pirates, but they just couldn’t get the win. The Lady Pirates and the Lady Tornadoes have several more games this season. Come out and support your favorite team, folks!
