Mary Lititia Spain

Mary Lititia Spain, age 90, of Gordo, AL, died January 21, 2026, at her residence. Funeral services were 2:00 pm Monday, January 26, 2026, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery in Stansel with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Winston Spain; daughter, Linda Joyce Skelton; her parents, and brother, Junior Hardy. Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne Spain Pate of Gordo; son, Joe Stephen Spain of Gordo; five grandchildren, Darby L. Kelly, John Luke Kelly, Sierra Spain Jones, Adrianna Pate Fair, and Brittney Shea Pate; and five great-grandchildren, John Lucas Kelly, Jr., Adin Fair, Jude Jones, Raelyn Fair, and Beckett Jones. Mary was born September 11, 1935, in Re- form, Alabama, to the late Martin Luther Hardy and Lois Abrahams Hardy. She was a member of the Fellowship of Jesus Christ, a retired employee of Westinghouse with over 29 years of service, and a former house cleaner and sitter. Pallbearers were Shane Fair, Corey Jones, Zack Hurst, Brian Pate, and Harold Skelton. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
