The Pickens County Tornadoes traveled to Brilliant Friday night to take on the Tigers in a 1A, Region 6 matchup.  The Tornadoes offense scored on their first seven possessions while the Tornado defense kept the Tigers out of the end zone until late in the contest. The impressive offensive and defensive performances from the Tornadoes resulted in a 54-8 region victory for Pickens County.  The win also gave Michael Williams his first victory as head coach of the Tornadoes.

The Tornadoes got things rolling on their first drive of the contest.  The score came on a 24-yard run from Jacurian Washington to cap a 69-yard drive.  Jermaine Hill added the extra point to give Pickens County an early 7-0 lead with 9:11 to play in the opening quarter.

The ensuing Brilliant drive ended after a punt from the Tigers.  TaDarien McIntosh handled the punt for the Tornadoes and returned it 64 yards for a touchdown.  A failed extra point left the Pickens County lead at 13-0 with 5:50 to go in the first quarter.
