Carrollton Council Keeps it Short and Sweet

BY GENA HUFF, Editor

The Carrollton Town Council met December 6 for its monthly meeting. Mayor Mickey Walker was absent from the meeting as he was double-booked and was required to attend another meeting at the same time. Mayor Pro Tem, Freddie Lowe, directed the council meeting in Walker’s absence.

The only thing out of the ordinary this night was a $10,000 bill, paid to the utility services who service the Carrollton water tank. “We pay them once a year $10,000, which sounds like a huge amount of money, but we just got the tank painted,” explained City Clerk Beth Goodson. “They maintain it, they paint it every four years, they inspect it every year, and, if for whatever reason, it blew up tonight, they have to have somebody here to fix it.”
