Two weeks ago there was a house fire at 945 7th Street in Aliceville and with an individual inside the home, Chief Deputy Jonathan Gann and Jordan Powell pulled the man to safety. Gann is from the Pickens County Sheriff’s office and Powell is
from the District Attorney’s office.

“The individual wasn’t able to get out because he had inhaled too much smoke,” Officer Derrick Jones said. “We broke out windows and everything to try and get to him the best we could. We kicked in the door and went in through the door. We saw him lying next to the table and pulled him out.”

Dispatch received the call to respond to a fire at 11:32 p.m. and Jones said a lot of the different departments were at Aliceville City Hall doing a special detail at the time and helped respond to the situation. Aliceville, Carrollton, the District Attorney’s office, and the Sheriff’s office was all together and all arrived on the scene at the same time.
