Andy Hamlin was appointed as the District Attorney of the 24th Judicial Circuit last year when Chris McCool, who held the position for 17 years, was elected and appointed as a judge on the Court of Criminal Appeals. Hamlin is a 1998 Pickens Academy graduate and earned a bachelors in Public Relations from the University of Alabama, before graduating from The Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery. He served as McCool’s Chief Assistant District Attorney for years before assuming the role of DA. Pickens County Herald editor Brian Hamilton recently sat down with Hamlin for an interview.
