Pirates fall at Clarke Prep 32-14

Pickens Academy lost its second consecutive game after winning back-to-back games to clinch a playoff berth, falling 32-14 to Clarke Prep in Walnut Grove Friday night.
The Pirates got behind early when the Gators scored on their first drive and never really could find a rhythm from that point on.
“They scored on the first play of the game, so I think that kind of took the wind out of our sails,” Pickens Academy coach Scotty Pennington said.
Pickens Academy did not fold like a cheap tent in the fourth quarter, however, scoring a late touchdown and trying for an onside kick in the game’s waning moments.
