Nelda Hudgins, Pickens County Library Coordinator, gave a library report in response to the complaints concerning the Reform Public Library closure that have been received by the mayor.
“When a library is formed, the city turns over the control of that library to the library board,” said Hudgins.
The city approves the members of the library board, but as far as the authority to operate the library, those decisions are made by the library board.
Operations of the library board might include expenditures or hiring library directors and/or employees.
