Sheriff’s Dept. finds marijuana field during on-foot pursuit

Pickens County Sheriff Todd Hall reported that on Sunday, September 6th when Game & Fish officers engaged in a pursuit on Highway 17 in the Reform area and pursued the suspect into the Poplar Springs area.
“He abandoned his vehicle and ran off into the woods,” Hall said. “The Game & Fish guy called for assistance and officers from Reform, Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, and Gordo responded. Our K-9 unit was able to get out and was in the process of tracking then he alerted what we later found to be a marijuana field.”
