SULLIGENT - Aliceville jumped out to a comfortable 26-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but had to scratch and claw to hang on, as the Blue Devils climbed back to within a touchdown before Aliceville put the game away.
“They really hadn’t stopped us all night — we stopped ourselves,” Aliceville Coach Melvin Pete said. “I can say that I know that we are fighters. Your team has to prove that to you week-in and week-out, but right now, hopefully we’re also letting our fans know that when you come to a game, we’re actually going to be fighting for our name and fighting for our town. We’re fighting for Aliceville.”
