Gordo Council purchases garbage truck and limb truck, discusses speeders

GORDO-The Gordo Town Council voted to purchase a used garbage truck and a limb truck at the March 7 meeting, in the wake of an issue with garbage pickup the previous week.

The Town of Gordo two weeks ago had a delay in garbage collection due to an issue with the garbage truck and personnel issues, said Mayor Craig Patterson. The city’s main garbage truck had broken down; one employee quit to take another job and two more employees were out sick. Patterson said he and three other employees had to pick up the town’s garbage for several days in two garbage truck, one of which is a used 2016 truck the town had to rent.
