Gordo’s City Council met on September 9th at 5:30 p.m. to briefly discuss a few items on their agenda. After reading and approving the minutes from their August meeting, the council expressed their gratitude for the cards and posters sent to them by various classes from Gordo Elementary for the money that the council had sent to them.
Next, Mayor Craig Patterson made a formal motion to the council to make Johnny Stephenson the permanent police chief for Gordo and the motion was passed.

The April 1st Gordo Town Council made quorum last Monday evening, but councilmen Terence Williamson and Tim Washington were both absent for the meeting.
The first item of new business addressed was an ordinance and resolution of permanent nature, as Mayor Craig Patterson introduced a new proclamation before the council to name April 21-27, 2019 as Parental Alienation Prevention Week. April 25th is Parental Alienation Awareness Bubbles of Love Day.

The Gordo town council meeting on Monday, February, 4th began with Gordo Fire Chief Sam Powell giving a monthly report. Powell said the fire department had received 17 or 18 calls during the month of January and gave report on a recent automobile accident in Gordo.
