Aliceville Rotary presents scholarship to senior

ALICEVILLE-The Aliceville Rotary Club presented this year’s “Service Above Self ” scholarship to Anna Rose Milner, recent graduate from Pickens Academy. She is the grand-daughter of member Billy McKinzey, who is the longest of all members of 50 plus years.

She graduated in May as an Honor Senior, a member of Junior and Senior High Honors Society, a member of Mu Alpha Theta, a member of Phi Alpha Epsilon and an All A Senior. In addition to the “Service Above Self ” scholarship she was awarded the Elizabeth Smith Scholarship. She was a member of the Pickens Academy Marching Band for 7 years. She graduated from the Pickens County College and Career Center Health Science program. She also graduated with 25 hours of Dual Enrollment credits with at 4.0 at Bevil State and will continue her education in the Crossing Points Program at the University of Alabama in two weeks.

Anna Rose has been a member of the Interact Club at Pickens Academy since its inception and has logged over 100 hours of community service in that time.“I wanted to thank all of you for awarding me this scholarship,” Anna Rose said. “I plan to use it when I attend the University of Alabama in a few weeks.”
