For the last four years, the Aliceville Museum’s annual fundraiser gala has been one of the social highlights for west-central Alabama. This year’s event promises to be the best yet with a Louisiana-style Crawfish Boil! The gala will be held from 7:00 to 11:00 pm on Saturday, June 2 in the Museum's Events Room and Courtyard.
Also worth noting, June 2, 2018 marks 75 years to the day that the first train carrying German POWs bound for the Aliceville Prisoner of War Camp arrived in town. It was the excellent treatment the POWs received at Aliceville that generated the good relations and friendships between the Americans and Germans which led to the creation of the Museum. As we commemorate this anniversary, the Museum asks that anyone who was on hand to see the arrival of the first train please contact the museum to share their stories.
