Floyd Olin Lee, Sr.

Floyd Olin Lee, Sr., age 90, passed away November 9, 2022 at his residence in the Union Chapel community of Carrollton, AL.  Funeral services were 11:00 am Friday, November 18, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Boothe officiating . Burial followed in Union Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  The family received guests one hour prior and after the service.
          Olin is preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Luther and Jennie French Lee; his sister, Miriam Lee Yarbrough; brother, Lacy Larice Lee;  nieces, Glenda Streeter, Debbie Hillman; nephew, Ron Yarbrough, and brother-in-law, Oliver Elmore.
           Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Berry McGee Lee; daughter, Connie Lee Oster (Larry); sons, Floyd Olin Lee, Jr. (Kathy), Glenn Clayton Lee, and Ricky Scott Lee;  ten grandchildren, Lacy Kamber (Eric Kamber), Hannah Nevins (Jonathan Nevins), Zachary Lee (Allie), Ethan Lee (Reagan), Katie Lee, Daniel Lee (Maddie), Landen Oster, Chandler Oster (Brittany), Campbell Lee, and Clayton Lee; six great-grandchildren, Denson Nevins, Eloise Nevins, Grace Nevins, Declan Kamber, Penelope Layfield, and Kennedy Lee and nephew, Larry Lee (Kim).
         Olin was born in Carrollton, AL, in the Union Chapel Community on March 11, 1932. He built a home across the road from where he was born. He was a lifetime member of the Union Chapel Methodist Church, a retired employee of Westinghouse in Reform, AL, with 32 years of service. He always enjoyed attending his Westinghouse Employee reunions as well as his Carrollton High School Class reunions.
        Olin was an avid sportsman, with Baseball being his first love, going on to play semi-professional baseball with the Pickens County Pirates for five years and the Columbus Red Birds for two years. Though he could not play an instrument, he loved country music, particularly Blue Grass Music.
        Pallbearers were grandsons, Zach, Ethan and Daniel Lee, Landen and Chandler Oster, Clayton Lee and Jonathan Nevins.
        In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Union Chapel Cemetery Fund at Bank First, 160 Reform Street, Carrollton, AL or Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
        The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Brian Wilhite of Tuscaloosa, AL for his care and compassion over the course of Olin’s life and the Hospice of West Alabama staff, particularly Chuck Plowman and Kim Colvin, for their professionalism, care, and expertise during the last few weeks of his life.
